ControlZ is a custom-made chat application template and an ambitious project that originated from the need to inevitably contrast some new online-privacy regulations that the EU government wants to let pass, better known as Chatcontrol 2.0.
ControlZ targets both beefy machines and small servers.
The original project is designed for a Raspberry Pi 5 with 16GB of RAM
with a modest SSD storage of 256GB.
The project is very far from being finished, but partial progress has been made:
- Design the file formats the application is going to deal with
- Implement these formats
- Test these formats
- Design the networking API for communication
- Implement this API
- Test this API
- Design server structure
- Implement configuration scripts and build options satisfying different configuration options
- Make backend implementations configuration-agnostic
- Implement headless server functionality
- Implement headless client functionality
- Implement a GUI with
Dear ImGui - Link the GUI with the backend in a thread-safe manner
More elements may be added to this list in the future.
