Hi, I'm Sami 👋

Master's student in Computer Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, on a double degree with ENSEEIHT (Toulouse). I like building AI/ML systems end to end: preparing data, designing and evaluating models, then deploying them.

🌱 Currently

  • Looking for an AI/ML Engineer internship for summer 2027 (May 3 – Aug 31) in Montréal
  • Working on an operations-centered study of disk failure prediction on 2025 Backblaze Drive Stats
  • Building agentic AI tooling with MCP and Claude Code (custom skills & tools)

💼 Experience

  • HPC Engineering Intern @ Axians HPC (2025): deployed an LLM inference server (vLLM) on Kubernetes and helped design a Kubernetes × Open OnDemand integration, put into production in 2026

  • Montréal Air Quality Forecasting: end-to-end ML pipeline predicting fine particles across 7 Montréal stations from 17 years of data. Missing-value handling, 20+ engineered features, 4 modelling approaches compared on RMSE. Graded 95/100.
  • VNS Modularity Clustering: implementation of a research paper on community detection by modularity maximization, benchmarked on 9 DIMACS graphs (up to 31,000+ nodes).
