Default runs currently print Codex startup details, the full task prompt, hook notifications, and raw tool results. This makes ordinary commit runs difficult to follow.
Render Codex JSON events as concise progress on stderr and the final summary on stdout, retaining failed-command and tool diagnostics. Add
--verbosefor direct terminal output; interactive mode retains direct execution. Supervise compact runs with independent child reaping, signal and job-control forwarding, bounded readers, and cleanup on protocol or output failures.Prepare v0.5.0 and update usage, completion, and contributor guidance.
Validation:
make checkand all 68 workspace tests pass, including real PTY cancellation, suspend/resume, detached pipe holders, fragmented events, and blocked output.
