feat(tracing): trace Nuxt rendering with tracing channels - #74
Replaces #44. Nuxt 4.6 publishes its own tracing channels, so this PR subscribes to them instead of adding render hooks.
Changes
nuxt.config.ts: sets tracingChannel: true, which turns on Nuxt's nuxt.* diagnostics channels (marked experimental upstream).
server/plugins/tracer.ts: records nuxt.render and nuxt.data as OpenTelemetry spans, named after the useAsyncData key. Data spans nest under nuxt.render through an AsyncLocalStorage. Failures mark the span as an error. No URL attributes are exported; the request span already carries the path.
The subscriber is only registered when tracing is active: always in production, and in dev only with pnpm dev:trace. With no subscriber, Nuxt calls the wrapped function directly.
The plugin, middleware, hook and island channels are left out: on this site they were mostly unnamed 0ms spans, and there are no islands or route middleware.
Limitations
Nitro 2 / h3 1 publish no h3, srvx or unstorage channels, so request-level spans still come from Vercel.
comark-content spans parent to the OpenTelemetry active context, not to the nuxt.data span that triggered them.
Verification
pnpm typecheck and eslint pass.
Production build of the playground exporting OTLP (http/json) to a local receiver, with nuxt.plugin still subscribed. GET /getting-started/introduction returned 200 and exported:
nuxt.render 717ms
nuxt.plugin … (dropped in the last commit)
nuxt.data navigation 314ms
nuxt.data :/getting-started/introduction 19ms
The last commit only removes the nuxt.plugin channel; it was typechecked and linted but not re-run end to end.
An earlier version exported the same spans for a request that rendered a 404, with both nuxt.data spans marked as errors.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Server traces now capture Nuxt rendering, island, data, plugin, middleware, and hook activity, with relevant operation details included in spans.
Trace URLs omit query strings and fragments. When available, nested spans preserve parent-child relationships, and failed operations record exception details and error status. Tracing spans conclude when synchronous or asynchronous operations complete.
Enable Nuxt 4.6's tracingChannel and turn its nuxt.* diagnostics
channels (render, island, data, plugin, middleware, hook) into
OpenTelemetry spans in the existing tracer server plugin.

Set github.comment.collapsed: true in .github/pr-lens.yml to fold the comment behind one View architecture and data flow row. Drawing still runs as before
Set github.draw: on-demand in .github/pr-lens.yml and PR Lens stops drawing pull requests on its own. Comment @pr-lens draw on a pull request when you want that one drawn
Add .github/workflows/pr-lens.yml with coldteadotai/pr-lens/packages/action@v0 and your model provider's key as its api-key to run PR Lens from your own CI. Any /chat/completions endpoint works

Explanation
The title "feat(tracing): trace Nuxt rendering with tracing channels" matches the main change. The PR enables Nuxt's tracingChannel in nuxt.config.ts and adds a server tracer that subscribes to nuxt.render, nuxt.island, nuxt.data, nuxt.plugin, nuxt.middleware, and nuxt.hook channels and records them as OpenTelemetry spans. The title is concise, uses a conventional commit prefix, and names the primary change. It does not mention the query-string/hash URL path fix from the commit message, which is a minor detail.
