feat: read content through the forge source - #69
Conversation
comark-content 0.5 removes `comark-content/sources/github`. The content and code-explorer sources now use `comark-content/sources/forge` with the forges GitHub provider, authenticated with `githubToken()` when one is set. `forges` is a new dependency; comark-content and forges come from pkg.pr.new until their releases. Forge dependency and GitHub provider package.json, server/utils/github.ts |
Dependency versions change, and githubProvider() configures token authentication when a token is available. |
Remote source configuration server/api/code-explorer/[...path].get.ts, server/utils/content.ts, test/content-contract.test.ts |
Both remote sources use forge with the GitHub provider. The source configurations use the branch as ref and no longer pass the previous token or TTL options. The contract test checks the forgeSource import and export. |

The packed layer depends on pkg.pr.new builds of comark-content and forges, which pnpm rejects as exotic subdependencies in the consumer install. Remove once comark-content 0.5 and forges 0.3.0 are out. Co-authored-by: Amp <amp@ampcode.com> Amp-Thread-ID: https://ampcode.com/threads/T-53648462-f442-44d1-9e8d-017ac90e9551

Thanks @larbish! I added We don't plan to merge this until forges 0.3.0 (with danielroe/forges#232) and comark-content 0.5 (comarkdown/comark-content#130 and #132) are released. Then the pkg.pr.new pins move to those releases and |

Both releases are out, so the pkg.pr.new pins and the temporary blockExoticSubdeps override in the pack fixture go away. Amp-Thread-ID: https://ampcode.com/threads/T-01a16960-e1f8-77bc-96c8-7a04ec84d00f

Finally I released |
comark-content 0.5 (comarkdown/comark-content#132) removes
comark-content/sources/github. This PR moves the layer tocomark-content/sources/forgewith forges' GitHub provider.sources/forgeshipped in comark-content 0.4.3, so this PR doesn't need to wait for 0.5.server/utils/content.ts) and code-explorer both useforge({ provider: githubProvider(), repo, ref, path }). The newgithubProvider()inserver/utils/github.tspassesgithubToken()when one is set.ttlis dropped. It cached the old driver's responses in memory; the forge source has no equivalent. Reads happen at an immutable SHA (withRef), and the parsed bodies live in the per-SHA Runtime Cache, so nothing re-reads more than before. On github.com, file bodies now come fromraw.githubusercontent.com, so the only REST call per load is the tree listing.forges^0.3.0, which hasmetadata: false(feat: addmetadata: falseto read file contents cheaply danielroe/forges#232), and movescomark-contentto^0.4.3, the first release withsources/forge. With no pkg.pr.new pins left, the temporaryblockExoticSubdeps: falseintest/fixtures/consumer/pnpm-workspace.yamlis removed.Unit tests (215) and typecheck pass; lint shows the same 4 warnings as
