A carefully crafted collection of Slack color palettes inspired by nature and iconic cities around the world. Each palette is adapted from Codigrate JetBrains themes and tuned for Slack's built-in custom theme format.
These themes do not require extensions, patches, or custom CSS. Copy a theme string from this repository and paste it into Slack's custom theme field.
The themes marked Premium below are sold on codigrate.com for a small one-time price; the purchase delivers the theme string with the same install steps. The other themes are free, MIT licensed, right here.
- Open Slack.
- Go to Preferences | Appearance.
- Open Themes.
- Choose Create a custom theme.
- Copy one of the theme strings from a theme file in this repository.
- Paste it into Slack's custom theme field.
- In the same Appearance settings, choose Light or Dark mode to match the palette; in Dark mode, turn on Darker sidebars.
Slack custom themes use four colors in this order:
System Navigation, Selected Items, Presence Indication, Notifications
Slack custom theme strings do not control Slack's light or dark mode. Set it in Preferences | Appearance.
Use Light mode for the light palettes and Dark mode for the dark ones. In Dark mode, turn on Darker sidebars for a rich, readable sidebar.
If you switch between light and dark mode, restart Slack so the theme applies correctly.
