Problem

SkillIdResolver.handlerForBinding looked up the lowercased skills.yml key with getSkill(key). MythicLib ids are upper case, so that lookup always missed, and the fallback loop returned the first skill whose display name matched. For Restoration, Maelstrom and Frostveil that was the MMOCore class copy (CLASS_RESTORATION, CLASS_MAELSTROM, CLASS_FROSTVEIL), because the copies share the rune's name.

The effect: the class copies got the rune's alignment modifiers (+20% mana and +20% cooldown at 0 alignment). On TFMCDev01, Class Restoration showed and charged 7.2 mana / 24s instead of 6 / 20. The runes themselves got no modifiers.

Fix

  1. Exact lookup with the key as given, then upper-cased.
  2. Handler id match (getLowerCaseId).
  3. Display name match as the last fallback.

Testing

  • New SkillResolverEdgeTest.bindingPrefersTheRuneHandlerOverAClassCopyWithTheSameName; mvn verify passes.
  • Ran the patched jar on TFMCDev01 (magic-0.4.12-bindfix): a Cleric cast of Class Restoration costs 6 mana again, and Cerrith Glyph is unchanged.

skills.yml keys are stored lowercase while MythicLib ids are upper case, so
the exact lookup always missed and the loop matched the first skill whose
display name equals the key. For Restoration, Maelstrom and Frostveil that
was the MMOCore class copy (CLASS_RESTORATION, ...), which then got the rune's
alignment modifiers (+20% mana and cooldown at 0 alignment) while the rune got
none.

Look up the upper-cased id first, then handler ids, and fall back to display
names last.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Skill bindings now resolve IDs regardless of letter case, including lowercase bindings that match uppercase skill IDs.
    • When multiple skills share a display name, a matching handler ID takes precedence over the display name, helping ensure the intended skill is selected.
    • If no exact skill ID match is found, bindings are checked against handler IDs before display names.

Walkthrough

The skill binding resolver now checks the supplied ID and its uppercase form. If neither matches, it searches handler IDs before display names. A regression test covers shared display names and uppercase-key lookup when the registered-skill list is empty.

The resolver checks the supplied ID and its uppercase form, then searches handler IDs before display names. The regression test verifies that the rune handler takes precedence over a class skill with the same display name. It also checks uppercase-key lookup when the registered-skill list is empty.

Make the uppercase lookup assertion independent.

If getSkill("RESTORATION") returns no skill, the final assertion can still pass through the handler-ID scan of getAll(). Empty getAll() before the final assertion to test the uppercase lookup separately.

Suggested test change
     when(manager.getSkill("RESTORATION")).thenReturn(rune);
+    when(manager.getAll()).thenReturn(List.of());
     assertSame(runeHandler, SkillIdResolver.handlerForBinding("restoration"));

Update the uppercase lookup test around SkillIdResolver.handlerForBinding so
