Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • BDD scenarios open a database session, clear the graph, and close the session after each scenario.
    • Scenarios run sequentially to help keep database state isolated.
    • Coverage now verifies session-opening failures, graph-cleanup errors, and preservation of fixture paths when session setup fails.

Walkthrough

The BDD suite opens a database session for each scenario, resets scenario state through that session, and closes it afterward. The suite runs with one worker and no longer clears database nodes through a suite-level initializer.

Changes

BDD Scenario Session Lifecycle

Layer / File(s) Summary
Open sessions and reset scenario state
bdd/utils.go, bdd/utils_test.go
resetBeforeScenario opens an injected or default session, assigns its database, and resets scenario state. Tests cover session-opening, node-deletion, and write-transaction failures.
Wire session lifecycle into Godog
bdd/steps_test.go
TestFeatures configures test-data paths and runs with concurrency set to 1. Scenario hooks manage database sessions. The suite-level initializer that cleared database nodes was removed.

cleanup runs after the final scenario as well as before each scenario.
Alternatively, retain the opened integration.Session and call Session.Close to
preserve its default graph-cleanup behavior.

Follow-up Comments

Outside diff Reset and close the current scenario database.

84-94: Major · Stability & Availability · Quick win

Reset and close the current scenario database.

closeDBSession must not call resetBeforeScenario. That method replaces c.db with a new session, so the hook closes the replacement and leaves the scenario database open. It also discards reset and open errors. The final graph cleanup therefore applies to the wrong database.

Reset c.db directly, retain any reset error, and close the original database.

Suggested fix
 func (c *dbContext) closeDBSession(ctx context.Context, _ *godog.Scenario, _ error) (context.Context, error) {
-	c.resetBeforeScenario(ctx, nil)
 	if c.db == nil {
 		return ctx, nil
 	}

+	resetErr := c.anEmptyGraph(ctx)
 	db := c.db
 	c.db = nil
 	if err := db.Close(context.Background()); err != nil {
 		return ctx, err
 	}
+	if resetErr != nil {
+ return ctx, fmt.Errorf("reset graph after scenario: %w", resetErr)
+	}
 	return ctx, nil
 }

Review comment at @bdd/utils.go around lines 84 - 94:
Update closeDBSession to stop calling resetBeforeScenario, which replaces the
database session. Reset the graph directly on the existing c.db, retain any
reset error, and close the original database; ensure the reset error is returned
without skipping the close.
