The Linux AppImage packaging and offline runtime fixes are included in NoteConnection v1.9.0, with source changes in NoteConnection PR #2.

The investigation reproduced the original catalog failure and found these causes:

• .DirIcon pointed to an absolute CI checkout path, and the wrapped launcher was not executable by other users. Updating Tauri CLI fixes the generated links and permissions.
• RPATH rewriting damaged the appended pkg server payload. The build now preserves the exact packaged server at linuxdeploy's supported PATCHELF boundary and checks its complete SHA-256 against the original build output.
• The published binary required a newer glibc than the catalog environment. Linux releases now build on Ubuntu 22.04.
• Installed Markdown worker names were not discovered, and graph layout fetched D3 from a CDN. Installed worker lookup and bundled offline D3 are now used.

The exact v1.9.0 AppImage passed the unchanged catalog worker inside a local Ubuntu 22.04.5 KVM guest (glibc 2.35, real KVM acceleration). Both native FUSE and extract-and-run modes passed offline authenticated APIs, native Markdown/pulldown without fallback, force/DAG layouts and arrows, Markdown/Mermaid rendering, and Godot Path Mode entry/return. Both About dialogs showed 1.9.0. Both normal window closes exited 0; all observed application processes and mounts were gone, followed by normal VM shutdown.

Source regression passed all 176 Jest suites / 1,797 tests. Strict Rust passed 34 tests with one existing mobile probe ignored. Windows, macOS and Linux release builds passed; the full guest runtime acceptance described above is Linux-specific.

The catalog entry can continue to use the existing upstream repository URL. The new release has a new version; the v1.8.0 assets were not replaced.

The remaining missing-update-information warning is fixed in NoteConnection v1.9.1, with source changes in NoteConnection PR #3.

The Linux build now embeds:

gh-releases-zsync|Jacobinwwey|NoteConnection|latest|NoteConnection_*_amd64.AppImage.zsync

The official bundled appimagetool/zsyncmake generates the companion control file. Because zsyncmake writes it in Tauri's working directory, the release workflow explicitly collects the file beside the final AppImage, verifies the embedded target, filename/relative URL, length, SHA-1 and checksum-table structure, then publishes the pair. Existing permissions, icons, portable links, glibc baseline and original server-payload checks remain enforced.

The exact released AppImage passed the unchanged catalog worker in a local Ubuntu 22.04.5 KVM guest (glibc 2.35), with correct update information and no emitted missing-update-information warning. Both native FUSE and extract-and-run passed offline API and UI acceptance: About 1.9.1, native Markdown/pulldown without fallback, Force/DAG graphs and arrows, Markdown/Mermaid, and Godot Path Mode entry/return. Both applications exited 0 after a normal window close, followed by process/mount cleanup and normal VM shutdown.

Both official AppImageUpdate and zsync2 reconstructed this exact release from an unchanged public v1.9.0 seed; the complete output SHA-256 matched. They downloaded 6.80% and 5.78% of the target content respectively in the controlled Range/206 test. A 404 failure preserved the seed. v1.9.0 remains unchanged and lacks embedded metadata, so its first update requires manually obtaining v1.9.1 or supplying the new control URL explicitly.

After publication, the official client also passed native GitHub Latest discovery with no metadata override. A separate direct-connection test used the public .zsync URL and the real GitHub CDN to reconstruct the exact target, downloading 6.80% of its content. The linked update report records the local HTTPS-proxy incompatibility observed in earlier attempts and the successful direct-connection result.
